BLEU DE GEX

Haut Jura
Unpasteurised Cow’s Milk
Traditional Rennet

Sharp natural threads of blue veins work their way through the creamy slightly crumbly pâté. The crust is rather dry & rough textured when young, becoming a little moist as the cheese matures. Partners the lovely alpine style Gruyère cheeses well, & can be added to fondue with great success. The best time for this cheese to be enjoyed is between March-July.

MORBIER

Franche -Comté/Haut Doubs
Unpasteurised Cow’s Milk
Traditional Rennet

Semi-hard smooth textured cheese with pale gold/beige washed brushed crust. The pale ivory pâté has a layer of blue/black edible ash & vegetable extract across its centre to separate the morning & evening milks used in the layers. Mild with a fresh milky nutty flavour when young, becoming richer & more pronounced with age.

COMTÉ D’ESTIVE

UNPASTEURISED COW’S MILK
TRADITIONAL RENNET

Ivory-coloured pate, with a rich, nutty flavour and a golden brown rind. In the style of a distinct Gruyère, with a hint of caramel sweetness. We select mountain-aged cheeses stored in traditional cellars close to where they are made. The cheeses we choose are from June, July, August and September, and are available in three ages: the classic d’Estive, aged 12 – 24 months; the Reserve, aged 24+ months.

TALEGGIO DI VAL BREMBANA

Bergamo
Pasteurised Cow Milk

A Taleggio from the hills surrounding Bergamo. The texture is creamy, with a rich, melting quality that is not too salty, but has a lovely sappy floral flavour. In aged versions the rind develops a slight grit and the pate becomes almost runny, with a satisfying fresh-baked-bread depth – marrying well with firm, juicy cherries from Vignola near Modena, which have a tart, slightly sharp taste.

We are a family run Bakery and Deli registered with the local authority and have been trading in Tring and the surrounding area for over 40 years.

At the helm Steve cooks and creates a daily selection of tasty treats for all, calling on his experience cooking in France, Switzerland and Tring for many years!

Call in to see our range of freshly made Hot and Cold food – with Daily and Seasonal Specials, there’s sure to be something to tempt you!

All of our delicious food is available to eat at our Outside Tables or to Take Away.

Sandwich Plus is famous for its wide and ever-changing selection of delicious sandwiches and rolls.

Some have been staples for years with dedicated followers, such as our Ham & Cheese Baguette, Turkey Twist or the famous ‘Hero Sandwich‘ and others get added seasonally as part of our Special Range.
